GYM's Democracy Project Is Back!
Our Coordinator Sarah has been going into schools recently to look at Longlevens Park and what young people would do with it if they had £150,000 to spend on it.
The thing is... they DO have £150,000 to spend and all the feedback Sarah gets will be considered in the plans for the new park!!
If you are in Year 9 and haven't seen Sarah carrying her ballot box around your school then ask your teacher to get in touch and she will happily come and run a session with your class.
Remember:
This will actually happen and your opinions do count. Last year you asked for a graffiti wall and we built one!

UKYP Elections
Last week the UK Youth Parliament held their annual elections. One of our members, Kingston Myles stood down as the member of Youth Parliament for Gloucester and Tewkesbury after a year in post. He had a fantastic year, made lots of new friends and learnt loads of new skills.
We would like to wish all the new MYP's for Gloucestershire the best of luck in the coming year. To find out more about the UKYP and the new MYP's check out their website.

Gloucester Skate Park - Complete!
That time you have all been waiting for is finally here! Time to get your skates/boards/thing you made in DT with wheels that you had no real use for... down to Gloucester Park.
The skate park was developed as part of Gloucester park, and cost a whopping £60,000. A voting system allowed people to go online and select which design proposal they preferred for the skate park so that the final design is one that people will actually use and enjoy. So if you don't like it....
Hopefully it should be open for use in the next couple of weeks!

Youth Opportunity Fund!
In order to give a voice and influence to young people, the Government has allocated a substantial amount of money to help fund youth projects.
These youth projects are to be applied for by young people, and the allocation of funding will be done by a youth panel comprised of young people from other youth forums.
This means, it is money for you and other young people, and you even get to decide how much is allocated!
So what do you have to do?
Quite simply, if you have an idea that would benefit you and other young people and all you need is some funding to get it working, then click here to get an application form and off you go!
If you need help or advice with filling the form in or shaping your idea, contact us at GYM and we will be happy to help.
Don't forget our own funding for youth projects though!
Youth Participation Grant
Are you a project, community or voluntary organisation that would like to enable young people living in Gloucester to get their views heard, to take on decision-making roles, and to represent their peers in communities, neighbourhood partnerships and city-wide youth forums?
Well why not apply for a youth participation grant. Click on the links to take a look at the criteria form and application form.
